What are the anti fall measures for building fasteners during high-altitude operations?
In high-altitude operations, the anti fall measures for building fasteners need to be combined with the overall safety system of the scaffold, achieved through strengthening connection stability, limiting displacement risks, and enhancing protective monitoring, as follows:
1、 Strengthen the reliability of the connection between fasteners and steel pipes
Standardized tightening torque: During installation, use a torque wrench to tighten the fastener bolts to 40-65N · m, ensuring a clamping force of 2.5-3.5kN on the steel pipe to avoid relative sliding between the fastener and the steel pipe due to loose bolts. Before starting the homework, it is necessary to check each point and re tighten the bolts with insufficient torque.
Add anti slip measures: Apply anti slip agents (such as specialized metal anti slip coatings) at the contact area between the fastener and the steel pipe, or use anti slip fasteners with tooth patterns to increase friction and reduce the risk of slippage caused by vibration and load fluctuations.
2、 Set up redundant protection and limit devices
Double clip reinforcement: Double clips (main clip+anti slip clip) are used at key nodes where the upright and horizontal bars are connected (such as the top layer of the scaffold and load concentration areas), with a spacing of not less than 100mm. Even if the main clip fails, the spare clip can temporarily bear the load and delay the fall.
Add anti fall baffle: At the end of the longitudinal horizontal bar on the outside of the scaffold, fix a footboard with a height of not less than 180mm through fasteners. At the same time, install a metal anti fall support plate below the connection between the upright and horizontal bars to prevent the steel pipe from falling off in case of accidental detachment of the fasteners.
3、 Strengthen the protection and monitoring of the work layer
Bottom protection of safety net: A dense mesh safety net is installed below the working layer of the scaffold, and the mesh is firmly connected to the crossbar through fasteners. The overlapping width of the mesh edge is not less than 100mm, forming a bottom protection to intercept fasteners or small components that may fall.
Regular dynamic inspection: during work at heights, check the status of fasteners before work every day, focusing on whether the bolts are loose, whether the fasteners have cracks or deformation. In case of strong wind, rainstorm and other bad weather, comprehensive re inspection is required, and the damaged fasteners should be replaced in time.
4、 Fall prevention control during transportation and installation process
Temporary fixing measures: When transferring fasteners at heights, use tool bags or ropes to hang them and prohibit throwing; During the installation process, fasteners that have not been fully tightened need to be temporarily fixed to the steel pipe with iron wire to prevent accidental falls.
Protection of homework platform: When setting up the homework platform, ensure that the height of the platform guardrail is ≥ 1.2m, and the scaffold board is fully covered and fixed to prevent the operator from dropping the fasteners due to unstable platform during installation.
Through the above measures, the risk of building fasteners falling during high-altitude operations can be reduced from three aspects: connection strength, redundant protection, and process control, ensuring construction safety.
